George Burns once said, "Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city." It was a joke, of course, but he certainly touched on something true: there's nothing sweeter than all coming together after time apart.
I'm not going to give a speech (let's be honest, Aunt Mary is revving up for that job right now!) but I do want to make a toast:
To all the people who drove or flew a long way to be here. To everyone who took time off of work because family is more important. To the people who couldn't be here but who send their love. And finally, to Grandpa, Uncle Max and Great-Grandma, who I know are here with us in spirit.
Basically, to family!
