I would like to propose a toast on this beautiful Thanksgiving evening. Of course, I would like to toast the hosts, but I would also like to raise my glass to each and every one of you in attendance here tonight. We all have something to be thankful for, but let's not forget how grateful we are to have each other.
Among the things we have to be thankful for, some are truly remarkable. Our family welcomed a new baby, Beth, into the world. Charlie and Lisa finally got married. Uncle Joe got his liver transplant and is doing well.
Others are the product of the work we have all put into our lives. Charlie has a new job, and Alice just graduated from high school. Annie is finishing up her Master's degree and Joseph finally finished restoring that old Chevy.
And then there's simply the good fortune that has befallen us this year. The leaves on the trees have been beautiful this fall, and this night was blessed by a perfect sunset. Let us not forget the world we live in when we give thanks.
So, a toast to us, our work, and the world around us. May the next year give us just as much to be thankful for.
